Raspberry Pi Zero Project with MotionEyeOs – Surveillance Camera

This is episode One of the surveillance camera project. In this video we are going to learn about the raspberry pi zero WH together with the camera module. The use of raspberry pi camera together with the MotionEyeOS will be discuss in this video. The application of this video camera was limitless and thus, you can try to implement it with your own ideas.

Hello everyone. Please allow me to share my experience with rapsberry pi zero WH together with the camera module for surveillance system. This is part one of my video. We are using motionEyeOs. Please do comment for any improvement.

Step for this method (freeware):

  1. motioneyeos imager
  2. balenaetcher (to flash your imager into micro sd)
  3. angryip scanner
  4. “wpa_supplicant.conf” file for accessing your wifi
  5. proper casing/ placement (which will improve for my project)

Challenges:

  1. your wifi should be very good and stable (mine are quite ok, but not satisfactory)
  2. wpa_supplicant.conf was difficult to make it/ use in mac, but windows should be ok, because notepad++ can be very helpful
  3. if you try to boot from your display, maybe its may take significant time to display your ip address. Just use angryip scanner to detect the connected wifi and your pi.
  4. sometimes, you may need to enable your camera module at csi. boot using the terminal in the raspberry pi zero (of course need display), then type $ sudo raspi-config then you will be prompt with the dos setup.. enable the camera.
